LEGACY LOG HOMES, LLC
"LOG HOMES MAKE SENSE!"

OUR THREE SUPPLIERS + a skilled, established LOG HOME BUILDER = success!

                Quality Materials And A Skilled Log Home Builder Are
                                The KEYS To A Well-Built Log Home
.

I work with several skilled, established log home builders who can complete most Lincoln and Yellowstone brand log homes (with all plumbing, electrical fixtures, and basic appliances) for a total cost of $90 to $100 per square foot, depending on customer preferences.  A white cedar log home from Katahdin might cost a bit more, however, in the long run, it just might offer better value.  With many log and standard homebuilders now charging $110-$130 per sq. ft. for a comparable structure, one can have the benefits that a log home offers for less.  NOTE:  At least two of the builders I know are willing to build most anywhere in the country, and each has had his work pictured in national log home magazines.  NOTE: Doing some of the work yourself can save tens of thousands of dollars, regardless of which log supplier you choose.  The best idea, however, is to have a skilled log home assembler construct the log walls and then set the windows and doors.

A former Assistant Attorney General, we did our research before allowing Legacy Log Homes, LLC to become a dealer for our three suppliers: Lincoln Logs Int’l, LLC, Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, and Yellowstone Log Homes, LLC.  I traveled to North Carolina, to Maine, and to Idaho to visit all three company headquarters, to meet their executives and staff, and to tour their facilities.  I am satisfied that these companies are top-notch makers of log home packages.  In fact, they arguably make some of the finest log packages in this business at some of the best prices.  Maybe that’s why they’ve been around for decades.  They are good folks, good folks who believe in:

·        Air-drying logs the slow, natural way (Kiln drying can damage logs.  Katahdin engages in limited kiln drying on an as needed basis and culls out logs made unusable by the process.);

·        Ingenuity in the design and cutting of log home packages;

·        Customer satisfaction, customer choice, and customer control of their total home construction cost.  Lincoln and Yellowstone will sell "log-only" packages, which include items needed to assemble the logs.  Katahdin will sell a basic package containing a few other cedar wood items cut at their mill.  Thus, you may choose your materials at a price you can live with, and take delivery when you’re ready.  None of the three will force full log home packages on the customer, however, in practice, their prices on many items found in full packages are quite favorable.  Finally, we are also an Authorized Representative for a fine, lower cost window maker whose product is guaranteed not to rot.  In summary, full package or small package . . . the choice is yours.

Supplier Websites and Model Home Pictures/Floorplans

Here are the web sites for each of our three suppliers, along with a basic description of their product line:

  I.      Lincoln Logs Int’l, LLC -- Consider Lincoln for reasonably priced, treated, "tight ring", true Southern pine logs.  When people think log homes, they think Lincoln!  (To see their models, click “Picture Gallery” at the left of their home page.)

II.
     Katahdin Cedar Log Homes -- Consider Katahdin for Northern White Cedar logs, a premium wood for premium homes.  Katahdin is the smartest log home company I have encountered and arguably has the best wood and the best assembly system in the business!  (To see their models, one need merely to enter their home page and run a search of the over 600 models available.)

III.     Yellowstone Log Homes, LLC -- Consider Yellowstone for big, beautiful, 9” to 16” Swedish Cope [curved bottom] logs from the western U.S., including the preferred Douglass Fir species.  For the best of the west, choose Yellowstone!  (To see their models, click “Floor plans” & “Photo Gallery” at the top of their home page.)

Please remember, however, that model homes/floorplans mean very little.  If you seek a custom home or a floorplan from another log home company, none of us will even blink!  We can secure a log home package to fit most any home you have in mind.  Design it yourself if you wish!
